Art Galleries Helped My Business Get More Sales!
How to get more sales? That's the million-dollar question that everyone wants to know. For my people's struggle in business, I have an answer for you. Art was what was about to help me identify this.
This past weekend, I decided to do something a little different. I went to Laguna Beach, no not to bathe in the sun, but to visit all of the amazing art galleries.
At some of these galleries, the sale prices for their pieces were out of this world! Some sold for 10k, 50k, and I spoke to an owner who had a one-of-a-kind piece that was worth over 5 Million dollars. While I already understood the concept that something is only worth what someone was willing to pay, the main question I had for all the owners was what did their sales process look like? and for people who enter galleries just to browse; how do you get them over the hump from browser to buyer?
Now of course the majority of the galleries had a digital marketing presence, some of them were A LOT better than others with decent scores on Google reviews. There were books to read, stories on the walls, contrasting colors on the gallery back wall. And there was a gentleman there who interacted with the customers sharing stories about the art and asking great questions like: “If I were to give you a painting which would be the one you would take home?”
Creating an environment that is conducive to the sale is very important. This is something that is already done in real estate. Think of the last time you went out to buy a home. 9 times out of 10, the home was staged. This is a key strategy people use in real estate because it immerses you in the environment and gives you a feel of how the house would be if you owned it.
Funny enough if you just listen you begin to hear couples take ownership of the house. “This would be the kids’ room” or “I don't think I like this take but I saw a great table at Ikea that will fit well with the ideas I have for this room.”
