Question and Answer

  • What's the best content to create on Instagram?

The best way to create good content on Instagram is to first understand your audience. Just because there is a cool video or picture with immaculate editing doesn't necessarily mean it will do well with your audience. For example, generally, on the explore page most of the videos that show up are from spammy theme pages. Oftentimes, these videos are just reposted; they produce big numbers because they are either funny, interested, or surprising producing a wow factor. (this is what their audience comes to their page to see) Taking that same video and putting it on a businesses page like ours; for example, might not do so well because our audience isn't coming to @nine27.co to have a laugh, but instead learn about trends in business and how to better their marketing. In fact, if our audience saw one of those reposted spam videos on our page they would probably think we got hacked!

To help find out what content would be the best for your page ask yourself a few questions: How old is my audience? What do they do for a living? How much time do they spend on social media? What do I want my audience to come to my page for? is it to laugh, to learn, to contribute, to be featured, etc. What could I create that could keep them on the page? What is some good existing content that I've seen that would be good examples of what I want my audience to come to my page for?

From there make a list of videos and images and saves them on Instagram. With that list make similar content to the ones you like that alight with your audience type based on your answer. Remember there isn't a 1 size fits all, so you will need to test different types of content images, videos, reels, skits, IGTV, stories, lives, etc. all to see which get you the most and least engagement and do the one that performed the best. just a time video and reels currently get the most views on Instagram.

After you do all this Instagram has an insight feature that actually shows you how many people engage with your profile and at what times. After a few weeks of testing, content begins to test the different times you post based on that insight schedule.

  • How can I profit from an Instagram account with 30k followers in the travel niche?

The answer honestly is simple, but It requires a little work. First off, is this an organic following or are these bots? I ask this because, in today's world of Instagram, follower count doesn't mean nearly as much as engagement. So, is your engagement high? I've seen an account with 10K+ followers, but only getting 10 to 30 likes per post. This isn't good and will not encourage brands to work with you.

Now that's out of the way here's 4 ways to make money on Instagram:

The first option is simple 'shoutouts'. there are thousands out travels agencies being started each day and a follower count gives brands authority and trust. You can use travel niche hashtags and find brand new companies starting and charge them a little fee for promotion. you make money and it helps their following! Too many of these shoutouts that aren't related to your page will encourage people to unfollow. people came to your page and followed for a specific reason, not to see you post 100 "go follow ..." posts keep it light and relevant

Second, you could do is find complementary brands and partners. These are mid to small-size companies that create products that align with and complement what you already do. these could be products like backpacks, suitcases, fanny packs, hiking boots, sunglasses, you name it. Working with these companies you can become an affiliate marketer where you get a percentage of commissions on every sale you lead to the company. If you want to do it right it will require you to make some content that checks the box for the partnering brand and your brand's identity. Don't be spammy!

Third, you can become a media company. Since you already have a big following in a Niche. You could begin to create media that specifically interest your audiences; you could create a blog, cover trends, major events in the area, and get paid by sharing these stories/messages. similar to the first option, but a bit more in-depth and higher scale. You would share stories, opportunities, resources, and knowledge in text, image, and video form.

Last, but not least, you can drive engagement up and go Live. You can create a podcast-style format where you interview different travelers on the platform. This is where they would share their travel stories, tips, and experiences. You do enough Instagram Lives and have enough engagement Instagram will reach out to you and give you access to the gift feature in Instagram live. This is the same concept at twitch where people can donate money to you during your live stream.

  • What is the branded content tag on Instagram?

Branded content is simply a section on the post that notifies Instagram and followers this post is included in a partnership or brand deal. Besides having a source to link back to, we believe one of the main reasons this is done is so that Instagram can go in and make sure there is no copyright infringement. Instagram profiles that have been identified as official businesses and organizations have some limits; for example with companies, like marketing agencies on Instagram reels, all music options aren't always available.
